About The Role

Working on the new Motability Operations MOEV app. We are looking for a mid level software engineer to join our team as our second developer. This role will begin as a jack of all tracks, working across all of the tools and technologies of our stack, but with room to pursue specifics as the team grows.
 
Key responsibilities will include:
  • Resolving issues discovered in the app
  • Making minor tweaks to the app from user feedback
  • Proactive maintenance of the app (security, package versions, etc)
  • Helping the lead developer plan for future features and technical work
  • Building small prototypes or proof of concepts for upcoming features
  • Management of the CI/CD pipeline
As well as:
  • Providing technical support and help to the team
  • Management of our current tools (LogRocket, Sanity, AWS, Intercom, OneSignal)
  • Maintaining and adding to our existing test suite
  • Working with and supporting our contractors
  • Liaising with the main business to remove technical roadblocks

About You

Someone who is passionate, able to work in a fast-paced and changeable environment, and can product high quality software would be ideal for this role. We are team of only 6, so each person on the team has a huge amount of impact, and is expected to be able to go beyond the scope of their role to support where necessary. Someone who can fills our needs for the present, but also help plan for and set the foundations for the future.
 
Minimum criteria:
  • Experience in React or React Native, using TypeScript,
  • Experience writing unit, component level, and end to end tests
  • Experience in writing custom components, using built in hooks, es6 syntax and state management tools.
