About The Role

The Design & Solutions team is looking for a Software Engineer in Test with experience in mobile applications, to join the product team that works closely with the business in delivering and maintaining software for our external customers.  
 
It is an agile delivery environment with momentum from some recent big successes, with lots of exciting new projects also in the pipeline.

As a Software Engineer in Test (SET), you will be responsible for developing and maintaining automated test scripts for mobile using industry-standard testing tools and frameworks to support delivery.  These scripts will validate software functionality, performance, and security. 
Ensuring the observability and reliability of the product is another key responsibility. You will utilize tools like Dynatrace, Splunk, and OpsGenie to achieve this. This role requires the SET to become the custodian of all things quality for their team.

You will have a background in wider quality/testing activity. You will possess automation skills in  both front and back-end testing. The successful candidate will have a strong desire to progress their team and themselves by establishing new skills and ways of working.

Minimum criteria
  • Considerable experience of automated testing including mobile apps
  • In-depth knowledge of testing principles, methodologies and best practices
  • Practical knowledge of React Native / React and Typescript
  • Knowledge of API testing tools, e.g. Postman and a desire to improve this.
  • Ability to analyse requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to derive test scenarios and test cases
  • Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills 
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation and facilitation skills 
  • Excellent judgement, decision-making & influencing skills 
  • Innovative and solution-focused with strong problem-solving and analytical skills 
  • Experience of working alongside delivery partner leads and third parties
Who you’ll be working with
You will be working within a Product Team and reporting to an Engineering Team Lead. 

You act as a custodian of quality for your product and lead the automation vision for it. You will be liaising with the other SETs, Engineers, Product Owners, the Automation team and wider stakeholders. Always balancing product initiatives and continuous improvement in your domain.
