About The Role

The Workplace Apprenticeship Programme at Motability Operations is an exciting opportunity to start your career with a high performing organisation.

Over the 16 month programme, we will support you as you combine work and study. You will work towards a Workplace Management qualification, while becoming a valued member of our Workplace team in Coalville.

At Motability Operations in Coalville, the Workplace team supports the smooth running of our 22 acre vehicle reconditioning centre. As a Workplace Apprentice, you will gain hands on experience by helping with day to day operations. This includes:

  • Building inspections

  • Desk and people moves

  • Catering

  • Cleaning

  • Landscaping

  • Security

  • Mechanical and electrical maintenance

  • Environment, health and safety

You will build your knowledge by working alongside experienced colleagues on a wide range of tasks and projects. No two days are the same. And you will see first hand how Workplace Management keeps our operations running smoothly.

This apprenticeship offers a clear route into a rewarding career. You will learn from experts in their field, develop new skills, and grow your confidence in a collaborative and supportive environment. You will also complete a structured training programme with our chosen provider, who will guide you throughout your apprenticeship journey.

Who you will be working with

You will join our wider Workplace team of 18 colleagues, who work across four Motability Operations sites.

Four members of the team are based in Coalville, supporting our 22 acre vehicle reconditioning centre. You will be part of this Coalville team.

Across the function, colleagues bring experience in cleaning, security, catering, fabric maintenance, mechanical and electrical services, and environment, health and safety.

The Coalville team supports a busy operational site, delivering a wide range of activities and improvement projects. Whatever your interests, you will have opportunities to learn and get involved.

About You

We are looking for someone who is curious, proactive and ready to learn.
You should:

  • Enjoy working with others and as part of a team
  • Feel confident working independently when needed
  • Have an interest in buildings and how workplaces operate
  • Be enthusiastic when supporting customers and colleagues 

You do not need previous experience in Workplace Management. An interest in the built environment and a willingness to learn is what matters most.

Minimum criteria
You will need:

  • Not to be in full time education by September 2026
  • Not studied Facilities Operative Level 2 qualification previously
  • Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths, or above
  • The right to work in the UK
  • To be based fully onsite


Our Recruitment Process

1) Application and CV (From 23rd February):
As part of your application, you will answer four questions specific to the apprenticeship role.
If you apply through the Disability Confident scheme and meet the minimum criteria, we will progress your application to the video assessment stage.

2) Video assessment (From 18th March):
If you progress to our video assessment, you will answer questions via video response.
You will have thinking time and response time for each question.
Additional resources will be provided to support you with this stage.
You are given 6 days to complete your video assessment from when you receive your invitation

3) Assessment centre (Week commencing 20th April):
If you progress to the next stage, you will be invited to an assessment centre at our Coalville site.
This is an opportunity for us to get to know you better and for you to learn more about us.
You will:

  • Meet the team
  • Tour our facilities
  • Take part in an interview
  • Complete task based activities

Offer:
If you are successful, we will offer you our Workplace apprentice role. The apprenticeship will start in September.

How we work

This role is based on site in Coalville. Because it supports a hands on operational environment, you will be expected to work on site each week.

You will still have dedicated time within your working week to complete your apprenticeship learning and modules, supported by your manager and training provider.
